Work Made Well developed the interior design strategy for CREW’s Creative Enterprise & Innovation Hub in Galway, Ireland - a workspace designed around the wellbeing, creativity and growth of the West of Ireland’s creative entrepreneurs.
The project took a place-based, evidence-based design approach, combining research into workplace wellbeing and creative work patterns with an understanding of the local landscape, culture and character of the West of Ireland. The design explores how the physical environment can support the particular needs of creative entrepreneurs, providing spaces for focus, collaboration, connection, mentoring and community.
The interior is highly tactile and textural, using natural materials, layered finishes and a colour palette drawn from the surrounding western landscape. Biophilic elements, considered lighting, acoustics, flexible workspaces and varied settings create an environment that supports different ways of working while contributing to a sense of comfort, identity and belonging.
The result is a distinctive, community-focused creative hub that connects place, people and wellbeing, creating an environment designed to help creative businesses thrive.
The CREW Hub project was shortlisted for the SBID International Design Awards, recognising its approach to people-centred workplace design.
